How FAITH Overcame my FEARS?

Facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterestlinkedintumblr

Fear is the absence of Faith. When you let it in, you’re allowing it to stop you from achieving the things you are created to be.  We all have fears, even successful people have it – the only difference is that they never let it stop them. They act despite of fear!

According to research, the top 5 greatest fears of people are:

  1. Fear of the dark
  2. Fear of cockroaches and rats
  3. Fear of blood
  4. Fear of heights

Five Things to Do this Holy Week

Facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterestlinkedintumblr

Holy week is here – one of my favorite weeks of the year. It is the annual observance commemorating Jesus’ last week on earth and the events leading up to his resurrection on Easter Sunday (Calendarpedia)  It is the most important festival of the Christian church. It’s the time for us Christians to retreat, fast and repent for the wrong things we had done.

Aside from its sacredness, it’s also the best time to bond, play, and be with your family.

It’s White Day – Our Fight against Privatization of Public Market

Facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterestlinkedintumblr

What am I Fighting for? I am forever against privatization of any public Entities especially our Public Market.

I’m neither a lawyer nor a politician. I’m a voter and a concern citizen who wants to fight for her rights. I have no idea or knowledge regarding privatization of public entities, but I have the right to investigate any questionable activities that can lead to the loss of our business and jobs.

Last month we were shaken by the news regarding Resolution No. 50 – Privatization of Lipa City Public Market. There’s no public consultation whatsoever. We were just informed prior to voting and deliberation. We are invited to witness the voting which was held at Lipa City Hall. Upon hearing the debates, I realized half of the city councilors want to privatize the public market. I was sad and depressed but I have to stand up for what I think is right. We will fight until the end. Our business is here and many will lose their jobs.

THE ACTS OF GENEROSITY: WHEN TO GIVE AND WHEN NOT TO GIVE

Facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterestlinkedintumblr

The more you give the more you receive. It’s true; I have experienced it many times. Generosity opens more blessings. It will open the flood gates of heaven.

But there are times when you have to close your hands. You have to choose diligently who deserve your generosity – be sensitive enough to know who really needs your help. Because some take it for granted – I have done a social experiment on this – some are asking for help just for personal gain.

Our business is situated in public market where lots of street children, beggars, religious groups, and charities were asking for help. Some used different kinds of strategies and techniques to convince us to give – showing pictures of their love ones in a hospital bed – and when you give, they will show up again the other week showing different set of pictures.

I’m a generous person; I give to charities because I know they need it. But my hands are closed to those who only want to take me for granted.

MY EXPERIENCE ABOUT FEBRILE CONVULSION

Facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterestlinkedintumblr

My eldest son was 8-month old when he suddenly passed out in my arms. I was so shocked that I couldn’t explain my feeling. My whole body was shaking and my mind cannot function well. I don’t know what to do.  I am hopeless. I was crying and shouting for help, I thought he was dead. He lost his consciousness although his eyes remained open. His skin turned blue.

His seizure ended after 5 minutes but that 5 minutes was a nightmare. It was a terrible feeling I couldn’t explain, a worst feeling a mother could ever feel most especially if you are a first time mom.

Due to panic, my husband brought my son to the nearest hospital barefooted. He also didn’t wear any t-shirt. Situation like this will paralyze your entire mind and body. You cannot think straight, I can’t think of a better solution. I can’t calm myself because I’m terribly shaking.

Prayer of a Forsaken Child

Facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterestlinkedintumblr

I wrote this prayer just after Typhoon Yolanda. It was a super typhoon landed in the Philippines that stole a thousand lives. It was probably the most destructive typhoon ever landed in the region.

It happened years ago but it always remind me of that tragic night. It taught me lessons of empathy and gratefulness. Life is short to waste on things that don’t matter. It taught me to live my life to the fullest.

“When you love, it is not you to be understood but you to understand; not for you to take but for you to be taken; to listen not to dictate; to sacrifice and not to demand; not to count or measure but to LOVE

1.Heaven and earth relationship

“Horizon is where heaven and earth meet: A love story that crossed boundaries.” – Diana Williams

This is a relationship that is bound by age and status in life. Relationships like these had so many complications, – from oppositions to denials to criticisms to judgments from families, friends and love ones.

There are tests of life we have to endure. Everyday we are confronted with setbacks and trials that leave us unguarded. But Life is Good Despite Surging storms, Shaking Ground and Trials. God will win our fights.
