Mom Road Ahead

A Poem for MAMA – The Queen that Gave me Life!

This is for you MAMA – My Beloved Queen!

The reason why life was breathed on me.

The Queen That gave me life!

How grateful I am for giving me the best life a mother could ever give.
Yes, we lack of so many things this world can buy – luxuries, designer clothes, expensive cars, a beautiful mansion – but we are full of the things the world cannot buy – your LOVE.
That’s enough to make us the richest. Your love went a long way.

From the rugged road of endless challenges
I found you by my side
The moment I felt like crying
You wiped my tears away

You lay your helping hands every time I’m confused
You carried my burden no matter how hard
From the darkest castle down this lonely road
You encouraged me and lighted my path with love

I owe you a lot for loving me
And letting me witness the beauty of nature
I’ll accompany you cross over crossroads
‘Till the end of the line

Mom, you’re the reason I’m standing
Surviving the bitter pangs of disillusionment
Crying with you in the moment of mourning
And laughing with you in the moment of dancing

I may not be a perfect daughter, your choice
Not even good but a black ship
But my heart longs to embrace
And tell you, “mom, your one in a million”

  1. I am eternally grateful for my mom for all the love and support that she has given me throughout the years, even now when my kids are all grown up, she still remains to be a very strong figure in my life. This poem is beautiful and so heartfelt.

  2. I grew up in foster care from the age of 10 so I don’t have ‘traditional parents so to speak’ but I have my aunty and my foster mum who are ‘both my mums ‘ to me. I liked the line in your poem where you said ‘Mom, you’re the reason I’m standing
Surviving the bitter pangs of disillusionment’ because this is how I feel about the two mums in my life 🙂 x

  3. Such beautiful words! I read this poem to my mother, because it perfectly encapsulates how I feel about my mom. Im not sure where I would be if it weren’t for her prayers and constant support!

  4. Great job! Like you, I really love my mother. While I may have given her a pretty difficult time, she cared for me unlike any other.
