Are you a Good steward of what you have entrusted?
Money is the number 1 factor that steal us from God.
“The rich become richer and the poor become poorer”.
I heard this phrases many times. And I was reminded by the parable of the tenants. Sometimes, the number one reason of your poverty is poor spending habits and your extravagant lifestyle. You have been splurging money for things that don’t have value or on things that depreciates in value.
Here is the parable of the talents, found in Matthew 25: 14–29 (ESV Version). “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.
He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money.
Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. And he who had received the five talents came forward, ringing five talents more, saying, “Master, you delivered me five talents; here I have made five talents more.”
His master said to him, “well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.
And he also who had two talents came forward saying, “Master, you delivered to me two talents; here I have made two talents more.” His Master said to him, “well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.”
He also who had received the one talent came forward saying, “Master, I knew you to be hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, so I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.”
But his master answered him, “you wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest.
So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents.
“For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away!
Stewardship is to manage the purpose or work the purpose of the master over everything entrusted to us. Our preacher taught us about stewardship, teaching us how to manage our resources well for God’s purpose. I am a bit guilty about this because I often forget the importance of stewardship.
Our time is also a gift from God, he entrusted the whole duration of our life to pursue his purpose in our lives. He is expecting us to guard every single minute of our lives from time wasters.
I personally believed that God put us on earth for his purpose. He gave us different talents and gifts for that purpose. One of His purposes is to call us to be a good steward of the resources He put in our behalf.
We also held accountable to the relationship He brought in our life. Our friends, family, wives, husbands and children – no matter how useless or bad they might be – they are not accidents, God purposely gave them to fill the lacking piece of your life.
GOD ALSO ENTRUSTED US OUR:
As the Bible says “your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit” so we are required to take care of it. Our health is our wealth, how can we help those who are in need if we ourselves need help too. Eat healthy foods, exercise and maintain a positive outlook in life. We can bless more if we are strong and healthy.
When my little son always suffers from convulsion, hospital has been our temporary shelter. Staying at the hospital is boring and the scariest part of my life but it taught me one thing – Health is wealth. If you don’t want to live at the hospital, take care of your body, exercise and healthy diet is the key.
We often take our time for granted, in my opinion, watching television for more than 5 hours a day, constantly checking your social media accounts, chatting with friends and playing video games are time wasters. “Time is Gold” because it is limited, every minute that pass is an indication that we are a minute closer to our grave.
Find your Potential, Passion and Purpose in life. Craft it. Use it for the glory of God.
God is expecting us to give our 100% effort to every job or business he entrusted. Your boss cannot supervise you 24/7 but God can. He can bless the hands of those who work diligently and honestly without supervision.
Work in the area of your gifting because it is where you will succeed in life. Don’t copy someone else’s life, copy their formula but not their entire
The way we raised our kids reflects whether we are good parents or not. It was our duty to teach them the word of God, good education, and support them in any endeavor they want to pursue. Don’t precede their decision in life. Let them choose their journey based on God’s given talents. They will surely bloom where they are planted.
Millennial babies are often “lazy”, hot tempered, quitter and impatient survey says. Most millennial are spoiled brat, consuming their time playing video games or constantly checking social media accounts. We as parents must guide them early. We must rule them not them rule over us.
Money is not the source of all evil, but loving it above God and your family can brought to destructions and the source of all evil. In fact, money was mentioned 2,350 times in the Bible more than heaven and hell, maybe because money is the number one factor that affects our relationship with God. W
Money can change your views. It can result to greediness and pride. Check your heart so you will not give in to temptation.
